VEPU.APP GUIDE

How to find relevant TikTok hashtags and keywords

Hashtags and keywords work best when they describe the actual video and help the right audience understand it. Vepu.app's idea tool produces topic-based suggestions; it does not report live TikTok trends or verified search volumes.

1. Describe one specific video topic

Start with the exact subject of the video rather than a broad phrase such as “viral content.” For example, “easy chicken soup for students” gives you a more useful starting point than “food.” Include the main dish, question, product, or problem the video really covers. More specific input usually leads to more focused brainstorming.

2. Choose the niche and audience goal

Select the closest niche, such as food, beauty, gaming, education, travel, or product reviews. Think about the purpose of the post too: teach something, inspire viewers, entertain them, or explain a product. The same topic can use different language depending on whether the video is a tutorial, a review, or a short story.

3. Generate and review the suggestions

Open Vepu.app's Hashtag & Keyword Ideas tool, enter the topic, choose the niche and output language, then generate suggestions. Review the groups separately: hashtags, keyword phrases, and video angles. Treat them as a brainstorming list, not a ranking report. The tool does not fetch real-time trends or monthly search volume.

4. Keep only tags that match the video

Pick a small, relevant group rather than copying every suggestion. A useful mix might include the main subject, a specific long-tail phrase, and one audience or format tag. Remove anything that promises something the video does not deliver. Generic tags alone cannot make unrelated content relevant to viewers.

5. Use keywords naturally in the caption

Write a clear first sentence that explains what viewers will learn or see. Include the main phrase naturally, then add a helpful detail or question. Avoid repeating the same keyword unnaturally or stuffing dozens of tags into the caption. A readable description gives people a better idea of why the video may be worth watching.

6. Compare ideas with real post results

After publishing, compare your own available analytics, audience comments, completion patterns, and saves over time. If you need current trend rankings or keyword volumes, verify them through a source that actually provides those metrics, such as TikTok's Creative Center or a suitable keyword research service. Do not label brainstormed ideas as measured popularity.

A practical example

For a video about a simple home-cooked chicken dish, a starting set could be #ResepAyam, #MasakanRumahan, and #MenuHarian, if they accurately describe the recipe. Long-tail ideas might include “resep ayam kecap sederhana” or “menu ayam untuk makan malam.” Edit the wording to match the recipe and audience rather than using the same list on every video.
